we went to Maine in August and stayed in a beautiful cabin on a lake with one of the last water postal routes in the United States. Then we went out to the coast and stayed with some friends in their gorgeous cabin right on the ocean.
It was wonderfully cool, I even got to wear socks & long sleeves!

Sounds gorgeous! I have been obsessing over spending our next summer holiday in a cabin by a lake, but a cabin by the sea would be much better! Where are you based if you don't need socks?! I have been wearing socks for pretty much the whole of our rubbish British summer!
Ooooh! So cool! I'm jealous. This was the perfect summer to escape up there and get a break from the heat. I'm happy to hear you had a great time! (Now you know why we're planning on moving there!) ;)
