Rice and Tomotoes in my Sketchbook

It's been a while since I shared a page with you from this sketchbook. As you know in my world everything should have a little face, like these happy tomatoes which make me happy because we are getting close to tomato season.

Hi Amy! Thank you for your lovely comment in my blog. I loove this post about the little tomatos and rice. It's amazing how inspirations comes from everywhere; I also get inspired by nature and the colors of fruits and veggies. Lovely post, congratulations!

nope! its not just you, when veggies are in season and come from the same area where we live, the taste is definitely better adjusted to ... all the natural conditions... or something like that (i read an article on this a while ago)

i heard that food doesn't travel that well

Sweet page! We just had our first "mess" of fresh Spring pole beans (being in Florida helps) and they were outstanding!

Fruits and veggies are picked and stored in cold storage for months sometimes, and it robs them of their flavor. Always better to buy local and in season when you can!

Nothing beats the taste of a freshly picked tomato! Yum! Your sketches are adorable, as always, but I am happy that tomatoes don't have faces for real, as then I would find it rather hard to bite into them! (Plus they might bite me back... yikes!)

Oh, I love your sketchbook! I love that you've put in photos and other memorabilia in there. It's more of a sketch journal. Cute little rice and veggies. I've never seen a black tomato before! Who knew! I like the grape tomatoes. Sweet. :)
